Another Home Goal 2011 off the list! We finally painted the guest bathroom cabinet and updated the faucet.
The previous owner painted the cabinet in a light brown color (the same color was on a huge entertainment center that was in the house and in a wall as an "accent"). It was not even nicely painted. The inside of the doors and the bottom of the cabinet was not even painted!Anyway, here we are to the rescue!
Took down the cabinet doors , sand the whole thing out and painted it.
We went with a dark espresso color. Behr Ultra Semi Gloss - French Roast, it is paint and primer all in one.
I got the hardware from Home Depot, I think I paid $6 (I got a Twix too!!). We updated the faucet with a new one and I found a soap dispenser at Home Goods, it is made of bamboo and is the same color of the cabinet!
We still need new towels and to frame the mirror but for now I'm happy about the makeover!

ReplyDeleteLooks fantastic!! We are going to be painting our cabinet in the downstairs 1/2 bath as part of my home goals. I was thinking black, but I think I like your dark brown muck better!! We've been painting away, most of the downstairs is done. Hubby even painted the brass on or fireplace for a more up to date look. Everything is coming together nicely. I've got a super cool idea for my little guys room.
ReplyDeleteI'll be posting soon, so stop over to check it out.

Wow! I love that color. Eep! I may have to add this to my house project list. Yours look great!
ReplyDeleteWow! Looks better. The cabinet has more ascent now rather than before. That was a good choice of color. Dark colors suite better in light or white color.
ReplyDeleteOh, Thanks for that makeover! So cute and amazing I am so sure guest that will be using it will be very happy and comfortable.
ReplyDeleteThat was a great result. I love the makeover. I think guest will like it too.
ReplyDeleteI have the same exact cabinet and toilet set up. I want to update and paint with out replacing cabinets. I am going to follow your lead and do the same to my cabinet. Also already have the same sink fixture! How coincidental is that?
