How to Make a Diaper Cake - Part 3

DECORATING THE CAKE

If you missed the first tutorial on "How to Make a Diaper Cake" go HERE

And for the second part "How to Stuff a Diaper Cake" go HERE

I am now going to show you a few ways to decorate the outside of a diaper cake.
(These are a few cakes I made last year)

WITH RIBBONS:

This was the second one I did. I only used ribbons to "cover" the rubber bands and I secured Whinny the Pooh on top with a few pins.

WITH RIBBONS & A NIGHT GOWN

For the Hello Kitty one covered the bottom tier with 2 types of ribbons (I used sticky tape {the red one you get at crafts stores} to hold the ribbon together in the back)

And a folded night gown for the other tier.

Here is view of the back

To hold the gown and the baby booties I used safety pins.

WITH RIBBONS & RECEIVING BLANKETS

On these last two I used receiving blankets to cover the tiers. You can fold them the same size of the diaper or just half way, so you can see more of the diapers.

Add some ribbons and a few decorations (got mine at Michael's) that you can attach to the ribbon with hot glue.

Lately I'm also using gift basket shred to cover the diapers.

You can now put the diaper cake in a cello bag (from the Dollar Store) and close it with bow!

Have a great week!
