How To Make Magnetic Tie Backs for Curtains

If you missed the other day my guest post over at I Heart Naptime, here it is:
I made a tutorial on how to make your own tie backs.
My 5 yrs old daughter didn't have it for her window curtains in her bedroom so I got creative!

Here is what you will need to make a pair

1 Fabric Quarter
2 flower shaped templates (approx. 5" and 4"diameter) (cutted with my Silhouette)
thread and needle
hot glue
2 felt circles
4 magnets (use the one you find at Lowe's or Home Depot, they hold better)
2 stripes 11" each of sheer ribbon
buttons (2 large and 2 smaller)

Start by drawing 8 large flowers and 8 smaller with the templates on your fabric with a pen

Cut them all, you should have 8 big flowers and 8 smaller to make the pair

Fold the flower in half

Fold one end to the center

and also the other end

a few stitches to keep it all together

Now take your felt circle and add a dot of hot glue on it and the first big petal

opposite the second petal

and the last two

Same process now but with the small petals

Align Center

When you are done with the flower add a nice button on the middle with hot glue

Add the sheer ribbon on the back on top of the felt circle an on top of that a magnet

At the other end of the ribbon another magnet and a smaller button. Your done!

I also make custom made orders!
