What I Want My Blog to Be When It Grows Up

Tomorrow 5 great bloggers will join forces and host a linky party that everyone of us should link up: What do you want YOUR BLOG  to be when it GROWS UP?

Back in January I did a list of goals for myself, one for my home projects but not a specific one for my BLOG GOALS. So here we go:

1.
Connect more with my readers and other bloggers. Yes I used to be a link and run person. When I first started blogging I would link to 40480465 linky parties and hoped that people would come visit my blog. I was so busy linking to every single linky party that I didn't had time to stop, relax and enjoy other's projects, let them know that I appreciate their work. I'm not like that anymore, now I enjoy reading posts, finding new tutorials and MOST of all connect and make friend with awesome bloggers! I really enjoy reading comment from returning followers, it makes me feel that they DO care of what I do and write!

2.
Find a balance that works for me. Blogging (and Pinterest) can be addicting as we all know! As a wife, mother of 2, blogger and little shop owner I really need to put priorities first and still be able to write a blog which I enjoy so much without the pressure or getting too overwhelmed.
I've noticed that I can do a lot more blogging and networking for my Etsy shop in the early morning when the kiddos are still sleeping. Easy right? Yes, if it wasn't that I tend to go to sleep late and in the morning I struggle to get out of bed! But if I work on that first of all I will get a better sleep during the night and second I can work more on  the blog, answer e-mails, edit pics, and so on.

3.
Post better pictures. I got my new Cannon 1 year and a half ago and still use it in Auto mode!!! I think (and please do tell me if I'm wrong) that I got better at taking close-ups, especially of my products, but when I take pics of my home I really don't like the result.

4.
Have a schedule. Right now I always post Friday Night Finds (where I post inspirational pics from Pinterest and Blogland) on Fridays and than the rest of the week it just depend. I would like to have a day of the week for a linky party, one for my thrifty finds, one for guest posts, etc...

5.
Have my own linky party!!!! I know this is maybe the 235.884 time you have heard me saying this and still no party but I'm getting there!!

It should be only five but I will add one more:
6.
See less !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! in my posts!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

How about you? What you want your blog to be when it grown up??? Think about it and write a post to link up at tomorrow's party hosted by:

It All Started With Paint
Thistlewood Farm
The Space Between
The Cottage Market
Eclectically Vintage

  1. This is great insight. I'm a pretty new blogger myself and it's hard to know how to do it 'the right way' so it's neat hearing others goals, how they balance it all etc. I love your blog so you're definitley doing something right :)

  3. Love the goals! It seems like everyone wants to take better pictures and host link parties :D Having a schedule is great because it means more accountability.

  4. I'm starting to settle in more and connect with my readers. I don't need to be at every link party every week. I need to get over my dependency on them ... like if I don't link, my readership will just dry up and disappear! An intervention may be in order ...

I love your goals. So many I relate to (scheduling certain posts for certain days ... though, I know that would probably stress me out).

Thanks so much for sharing your blog dreams here and for linking up with us!

    :)

  5. Great goals, Veronica. Some weeks I spend lots of time visiting my wonderful blogger friends. Other weeks, I link and run, too. We've all done that. Finding a balance between life and blogging/Pinterest IS a challenge! Ha. I'm your newest follower.

  6. Nothing wrong with a well placed !!!!!! Keep them coming!

It's tough finding balance and having a life! My pics need work - I'm an auto mode girl too so I feel you on that one.

I like your weekly schedule idea. I've been developing a couple of days for my Friday Finds and my Exceptionally Eclectic series. Other days are whatever strikes my fancy which is kind of nice too.

Glad you linked to our party - new follower.

  9. Oh, I adore your goals, especially the one about finding balance! So hard to do, I know ~ it's my word of year for 2012 (I even got a sweet little necklace that says "balance" and wear it as a reminder!). I love that you want to host a linky party -- you're way ahead of me in that regard. :)
    Looking forward to following along!
